Guests are welcome to dine in the private lounge, or they can enjoy the company of others in one of the bars. We have a range of locally sourced food on our menu from 10oz Steaks to Vegetarian options. We also have a ‘specials’ menu, which changes on a weekly basis. We purchase food locally wherever possible such as the Ceiriog Trout, which is sourced from just across the road.
We also offer a range of local real ales such as Stonehouse’s Station bitter and Plassey’s Fusilier, which have proven popular with most of our guests.
There is plenty to do in the Hotel as we have a pool table and darts board in one of our bars.
Sky Sports and Setanta are also shown here as we always have a good crowd in to watch the sports. The Glyn Ceiriog football team also come in most Saturdays after their home game to watch football and to have a drink with the locals.
The local choir meet here after practise every Wednesday evening, so you could be in for a real treat as they ‘sing for their supper’.
In the summer months, outside the front of the hotel becomes full as guests soak up the sun with cooling drinks. As the cooler weather comes, the fires are lit which makes sitting inside very cosy.
We also have a ‘Museum’ room offset to the front lounge, which contains many pictures and memorabilia of the old Glyn Valley Tramway. The tramway is part of the history of the Ceiriog Valley, which we are keen to be part of.
